Bella
Chief Barking Officer

Bella takes her role at True Rentals very seriously. Her responsibilities include testing sunny nap spots, approving neighborhood walks and reminding us that vacations are better when your best friend gets to come, too.
A beloved member of the True Rentals family, Bella is our 4 year old Germain Shorthaired Pointer. Catch her running the trails with Nate, and hanging on our favorite dog-friendly patios in town!

WALK + EXPLORE

B-Line Trail
One of the best ways to explore Bloomington with your pup! The paved B-Line winds through the heart of town, connecting downtown with Switchyard Park and Bloomington's larger trail network. It's perfect for a morning walk, afternoon adventure or post-dinner stroll.

Clear Creek Trail + Bloomington Rail Trail
Head south for a quieter, scenic walk surrounded by more greenery. These trails connect into Bloomington's larger trail system and are especially convenient for guests staying on the south side of town. This one connects to The Weekender’s neighborhood for easy access!

Switchyard Park + B-Line Trail
Make a whole afternoon of it! Walk the B-Line through Switchyard Park, explore the park on leash, and finish with some off-leash playtime at the dog park. Our Little 500 Condo is located just off of the B-Line trail!

Griffy Lake Nature Preserve
For pups (and humans!) who prefer the woods, Griffy Lake offers a more natural Bloomington adventure with wooded hiking trails and beautiful lake views.

RUN + PLAY

Switchyard Park Dog Park — ⭐ Bella's Pick

Switchyard's dog park offers 4.7 acres of fenced space, with separate areas for large and small dogs. Pair your visit with a walk along the B-Line Trail for an easy way to burn off some extra vacation energy.

Another local option: Ferguson Dog Park offers plenty of room to run, plus separate fenced areas and a dog wash station.

SIP + STAY AWHILE

Bloomington has some fantastic patios where your pup can come along for the fun. Patio availability can be seasonal, so we always recommend checking with the restaurant before heading over.

FARMbloomington
A downtown favorite right on Kirkwood. FARM's outdoor seating welcomes pups, and they take dog-friendly dining a step further: their popular Very Important Pups Wednesdays have offered a complimentary dog-friendly meal with the purchase of a human entrée during patio season.

Cardinal Spirits
Craft cocktails for you + a B-Line-side patio for your pup. Cardinal's patio overlooks the trail, making this an especially fun stop to pair with a walk.

Upland Brewing Co.
A Bloomington classic. The original Upland Brewpub has a large, dog-friendly patio where you can grab local beer and a meal with your four-legged sidekick. Upland explicitly welcomes dogs on the patio.

Lennie's Brewpub
Pizza, local beer and a pup-friendly patio right on Kirkwood Avenue. It's an especially easy choice if you're exploring the IU campus or downtown with your dog.

Hive
A casual east-side favorite with breakfast, lunch and dinner options — plus a dog-friendly patio made for four-legged family members.

Also worth a sniff: Heartwork Brewing, Hopscotch Coffee and Friendly Beasts Cider Company are additional local spots with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Visit Bloomington specifically lists them among patios that offer treats and/or water bowls for furry guests.

TREAT YOUR PET

Because vacation calories don't count for pets either.

Pup Cup Run → Jiffy Treet

Take your pup along for an old-school Bloomington ice cream run! Jiffy Treet East welcomes dogs at its outdoor tables and offers pup cups for four-legged customers. You get the ice cream; they get their own treat. Everybody wins.

T&T Pet Food & Supply

Forgot a toy? Need some treats? Or does your pet simply deserve a vacation souvenir? T&T is a locally owned Bloomington pet store and a great place to pick up something special for your four-legged traveler.
